any advice on what would be best for my starting company as in who to register with as in niceic, napit, elecsa or the benefits of Eca. I am looking to do domestic work aswell as commercial jobs. Are they all the same or are more beneficial than others. Thanks

All are a means to an end.
Do you want to be registered to be able to notify domestic work ? Do you want to be registered because you think that commercial organisations and local authorities will be more receptive to you through membership ?
What's the business model ?

Notifying domestic work is important as I get a lot of extension work but am also interested in doing commercial and industrial work. At the moment my business is at the early stage as to why I have no idea who to choose. Seem to get the impression of people that it's more who you get on best with.

I go with the cheapest scheme to notify domestic work. It's a purely business decision as they all do the same job, notify work and naff all else.
For commercial work then it's up to you and the client base you are after. Some will only accept Approved contractors with NICEIC. This tends to be a historic stipulation based on the good reputation the NICEIC used to have decades ago before they became a money grabbing company set on devaluing our trade for profit.
I have convinced many a commercial customer that my abilities and experience are worth more than a badge on a van and therefore do not see the need for AC status. You will need to make a decision based on the aims of your business and your research though.
