Wiring combi with seperate programmer and thermostat

Hi all,

First bit of heating controls that I have done apart from wireless, so please bear with me.

Plumber friend has fitted boiler Worcester Greenstar Junior 24,

wants it wired up,

RCD protected fused spur already in place (from old boiler)

he has given me a Horstmann ChannelPlus XL programmer and Horstmann ASR-ZW thermostat (wireless, obviously i am just wiring the receiver.)


Can anyone help me out with a diagram for wiring into specific terminals, I have look at manuals for boiler, programmer and stat they all seem slightly different and just want to clarify.

This is my method,3 core flex from rcd spur to boiler l-n-e,5 core flex from boiler to programmer put another 5 core to wireless reciever call for heat from the roomstat link together with the 5th core from boiler inside the programmer,so when your programmer is heating on and the roomstat is calling for heat 230v is switching Lr,im thinking that this boiler is 230v switching,check this out as you dont want to be wiring to 24v or similar.

A few pointers for you,there are lots of different heating controls by differnet manufacturers,but generally they can be mixed and matched i.e honeywell programmer,drayton thermostat etc.The common thing with all these is that if they are 230v will all need a supply l-n-e,so boiler,roomstat,programmer etc,most programmers will have for instance L-N-E COMMON and CALL,from call to wireless reciever again L-N-E COMMON AND CALL(this is the switched live).just think of it like a programmable light switch with a common and switched live.

Yep 230V switching. For future reference, given this is a combi then you ownly need a single channel so often easier to opt for a programmable room stat (unless there's some reason to have the stat and programmer in separate physical locations).
