We're reviewing the wiring diagram format we've been using for both the customers paperwork, and more importantly the G59 applications as we're in the process of submitting an application with 8 inverters and about 20 strings of panels split across 4 roofs on it, and it's basically broken our current template as it just won't fit to any sensible size.
Looking at the wiring diagrams in BS7671, MCS, G59 engineering documents, and elsewhere, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of a uniform format to be used on the diagrams, so I wondered if it'd be possible for anyone with any good examples of wiring diagrams for above 50kW multi inverter set ups to post up a jpeg of them to see how others are doing it.
Our current diagrams are very basic line diagrams with text box descriptions of each item of equipment, labels for the cable sizes and dotted lines to mark out the roof area, inverter location, meter point etc.
These work ok for more basic set ups, but would just take up too much space for a big system, and also don't really show the protection set ups inside the inverter correctly, so would miss out the fact that the power-one has string level fusing, class 2 surge protection and integrated isolator within the inverter.
The other issue is that we've been using google docs to draw them, which is a bit restrictive on what can actually be achieved, but absolutely brilliant in terms of allowing people to collaborate on the diagrams from anywhere at the same time, so an idea of what software anyone is using to produce their diagrams would also be useful.
I'll post up some before and after shots from our current and revised efforts once I've got one knocked up using the correct symbols etc (which I think is the route I'm going down with it, if I can get google docs to play ball). I think I attempted to sort this out on photoshop a couple of years ago, then didn't save it before the computer crashed, so I gave up and just carried on using the google docs version.
