I have German heritage as well as English . And I was staying at my mothers for bit and two young Germans asked me when having my coffee and smoke out front when next bus is.. I said sit down have a coffee or coke , wht yous do to my surprise they said electricians over to learn English at foyle language school . There company sent them . How good is that..

Well, it shows how much appreciated good electricians are in Germany.
They currently are one of the most wanted professions.
 
From what I have been told, it is very difficult for a foreigner to work as an electrician in Germany. They have a system which tries to get their school leavers trained and straight in to the areas they are needed. Their regulation is excellent too....

It isn't so much difficult for a foreigner - esp. from the UK - to get a job in Germany. You only need
- a completed training with certificates
- a matching profile + some experience
- and some knowledge in the German language
