I have someone thinking of swapping a 3000TL out for a system that can charge batteries and island. Is there a second hand inverter market and would you buy a nearly new model? Or is there a system that can do this and is compatible with a 3000TL?

Cheers...

PS we didn't do the original install and the company that did doesn't want to know...

I think you might struggle as how would the buyer know if the inverter was installed correctly in the first place - i.e. could have been subjected to over voltage (DC) which will / may lead to premature failure. Its an expensive bit of kit and personally I would rather pay for a new one and have no warranty concerns, but that may be just me.

Perhaps worth asking SMA if they do a refurbishment or anything for 2nd hand inverters.
