In my opinion the main issue is not an upfront RCD. They main issue is that there is no 30mA RCD protection, only 100mA time-delayed.The main issue with your current fuseboard is the up front RCD, so when it trips you lose all your circuits.
That isn't time delayed, the T would be a D if it were, I thinkIn my opinion the main issue is not an upfront RCD. They main issue is that there is no 30mA RCD protection, only 100mA time-delayed.
What would you do then Westy? change the CU without regards to any testing or inspection, cus all this Muppet has done is look at the CU and thought "hang on some easy money to be made here.
No the part number on the front would end in a "D". Don't think you would get a Proteus 63A time delayed rcd, not that I dabble with such a brand of course.Or would there be an s for selective?
Aren't all proteus breakers time delayed?![]()
As standard I supply and fit a new Rcbo board for £450.00 depending on number of circuits, bonding upgrade etc..
Did the electrician say you had to have a new board or did he strongly recommend?
could always fit a biscuit tin round it....
1. amd. 3 compliant.
2. abomination now out of sight.
Apologies. I was assuming that "T" was for time-delayed, as S-type (Selective) is a newer term. That isn't time delayed, the T would be a D if it were, I think![]()

I will post an update when i have had a second opinion.. Thank you all again its a appreciated.
I reckon if you are that worried about your electrics, an EICR would be best done prior to any work, don't you?Den,
I would advise you to get the EICR done first. If your existing c/u is non-compliant with BS7671, the EICR will detail this. I believe that an EICR should be done after a new C/U is fitted any way.
Cheers

Yeah right on Dude, I mean Tel been watching some 60s carp on the telly Man far out.or at least a basic test/inspection to determine:
1. is a replacement CU advisable.
2. is the installation in good enough state to connect to a new CU with RCD protection etc.
