How to stay connected during power cut

Hi all,

Odd question of the day :: they're going to cut power to my street tomorrow... all day long.

I get internet connection through phone line (DSL) and would need to keep the router going during the power cut. Need it for work.

How can I keep the router going? 12 V battery with ac/dc adapter? Not sure how long it'd last. Any ideas?

The street's going off.....mind you, they may have changed plan....not been seen since posted at half past two.
Maybe a neighbour has a genny???

Forgot the whole street was off. Doh. Ok, longer cable same principle, just next street. Or lamp post. Unless someone's charging their car from it obviously.
