3 phase boiler install on domestic property

So it wouldn't be an issue having say the main CU on one phase, the car charger on one and the boiler on a 3 phase ?

3 phase boiler install on domestic property

Just trying to get an idea of the options that I can offer the client. My concern would be balancing the loads across the phases. I don't do a huge amount of 3 phase stuff so not 100% sure on the best route.

3 phase boiler install on domestic property

Yes, certainly worth considering. I don't really know much about them, can the existing heating system be incorporated into it or is it a case of ripping it out and starting again?

3 phase boiler install on domestic property

Yes same here, needs to have a single point of isolation. I'm guessing that to run most efficiently that 3 phase would be best?

3 phase boiler install on domestic property

Thanks, my concern was the balancing of the loads, as the car charger will only be on every now and again, in the evening.

3 phase boiler install on domestic property

Dont have the spec yet, its all just an idea at the moment. Its a massive house so I think its going to be a big boiler. They have been advised by the boiler people that it will need to be 3 phase.

3 phase boiler install on domestic property

Hi all, A customer is looking into the option of upgrading to a 3 phase power supply in order to get a new electric boiler system installed. They currently have a single-phase supply. They have an out-building with an electric car charger. Would an option be to have say a 1 way 3 phase board...

Integrated 4 pole RCD for 32amp outlet.

I think they are a business. They sell caravan hook ups and the like. Tried to call them, no answer. I just read somewhere that 380v equipment isn't always rated to above 415v -418v

Integrated 4 pole RCD for 32amp outlet.

Hi all, I got some great feedback the other day regarding the installation of some TP + N, RCD protected sockets. One of the sockets will be supplying an old forklift charger. I just wondered if I should be installing a type A RCD on this? I can't get any info from manufacturer as its too old...

RCD omission in a commercial setting.

I was just wanting to get other electricians perspective on it. They weren't required previously so I wondered in what circumstances other sparks omit them and why.

RCD omission in a commercial setting.

Hi all, I have been asked to install 2 x 32amp 3 phase sockets, one is to be used to plug in a forklift charger, the other one they are not yet sure but want one available for the future. What are people's thoughts on the omission of RCD's in what circumstance would a risk assessment negate...

    Meter tails in ceiling ?

Thank you for response, I just wasn't 100 per cent about the tails being in the ceiling. So as long as they are coming down the wall surface or are buried at more than 50mm in the wall then that's fine as well?

    Meter tails in ceiling ?

That's what I'm asking, if its necessary or not.
