Hi guys, fairly new to industry and even newer to temporary lighting.
We are putting up 5 normal and 3 emergency lights. The lights are being switched via a sensor.
The normal fittings have 3 cores and the emergencies gave 4. The cable from sensor also has 4 cores. How should I connect the cable from sensor to each fitting (both normal and emergencies) ?

Could have sworn we had something similar quite recently.
The 4 cores on the sensor are probably live in, switched live out, neutral and earth.
The em lights need a permanent live as well as a switched live, so unless you intend running them on a separate circuit, you will need 4 core cable to each fitting.
On the non em lights, you just connector block the permanent live, with the other 3 cores going to their respective terminals in the fittings.

@dave19, please can you fill your profile in or give me a PM to your background, this is basic wiring principles to be honest and will be shown in the information supplied with the PIR and EM lights, are you a practicing qualified Electrician or a trainee, if the latter then you may find applying for access to the trainee section to your benefit, we have mentors and staff who will be very helpful to this level of question.

I'm closing the thread until I receive further information, if your not an Electrician then we are not here to give a step by step guide to doing such work.
