What if I have PME could I just connect it to the earth instead ?

You can report product for false information if you are logged into your account. If enough of us do then maybe amazon will stop selling them, maybe !

What? Using a blue sharpie pen, draw a line from the nearest socket diagonally up to the switch.

I am not an electrician (electronics background), but find reading this site very interesting. The terminology used on that device appears to be American, and is clearly wrong for the UK. Reported on amazon.

not diagonal. sharpie lines should be in prescribed zones, as recommended by sharpie in their manufacturers instructions. DOH.!.

My house needs renovating anyways I will buy a couple, install them as advised and when the house burns down will claim on their PLI. Win Win situation.

Yes, it's helpful to draw a line on the wall as a guide for chasing.

The chase will only need to be small as a 1.5mm single doesn't take up much space. Don't forget to fit rubber grommets to the cable entry holes on metal back boxes.

Gripfill is a quick and easy way to fill both hold the wire in place and to fill the chase in.

They were selling off the red and black sharpies for a while....

Remember to affix the sticker to the CU: "This installation uses two colours of Sharpie to BS7671"

A bit late to this: Sonoff are from Shenzhen in China. Their instructions are genereic, and clearly not applicable universally.
Regardless, their products are pretty amazing for their price (check out their "WiFi DIY MINI Smart Switch). However, slight tech issue: see separate thread.
