Hi guys,

I`m busy on a rewire.

I am putting a telephone point in the living room an one in the master bedroom.

To where are BT prepared to run the line from outside. Does it have to be on the front of house.

Basically, have they got any "area`s/zones" on where sparks can in stall a wall box for the master socket during a rewire.

Thaks

I have a feeling it is within 3 meters max inside the house, the actual position will be relevent to the pole in the street I suppose, a friend of mine works for BT and he has told me several times about not being able to connect to the sparks internal cable due to it being too far away, I am not 100% sure but the ground floor hall way is probably their preferred choice.

Hi,

When I did mine I put a junction box above the front door ( inside ), did all the internal wiring myself and they just connected to it. From my experience of BT they prefer the easier option for themselves, less work.

Regards.

you can run the cable yourself, just make sure its the proper stuff CW 1308 leave enough slack at incoming point and they will join with a 77A joint box.
