Done an EICR this morning. Easy job as it was a 1 bed apartment and when I left everything was working. Left just after 1315hrs and then I received the below message from the landlord. As I wasn’t far away I thought I’d go back and check incase something had tripped. You can see my reply.

You gotta love plumbers. 😂

Not sure about prevention of premature collapse in the event of fire...but it's easy to trace the cables as they are colour-coded...
Oh, wait...

Strange, looks like maybe they were trying for a TT supply to garage but have failed on many points

Client has had kitchen taken out and wants a few electrical bits done, shouldn't be too bad as had an eicr last month, all lovely.

I am presuming the parts we are looking at were hidden behind kitchen furniture and appliances.

Pic 2 was the only one that was hidden, that being the redundant original cooker switch. Now being used to supply a cooker hood, double socket and two fcu's for appliances.

Pic 1 is the cooker hood socket outlet located on top of the cupboard, easily visible if they had bothered to look.

He had fitted a new double socket.

Mcb was still the 40 amp

Stevie Wonder would have done a better job just using touch than this fella did.

Apparently it’s been like that for a week from when the meter was changed. I’m not buying that though as the meter monkey has no reason to touch the main earth. 🤷🏼‍♂️

It wasn't a touch though :)

Looks more like it's never been connected. The end isn't even stripped.

What was even better was the property has an old 16th Ed board with no RCD for any circuit.

Maybe this proves RCDs and CPCs are overrated. 🤔🤪
