Hi All,
I hope you are doing well.
I was looking into Venetian blinds for my street facing windows.
Then I scratched my head if this could be motorised so I don't have do it 4 times every day.
Ideally if this was with a light detector so it closes at the right time as the timer would always be off.
I don't really need anything fancy e.g. for intelligent homes, central control, apps just independent blinds that open and close.
I don't need blinds to roll.
Would you recommend a manufacturer?

I can't recommend a manufacturer but I do know someone who had blinds with a sun sensor and while it seemed a good idea at first, they were problematic
They do have adjustment settings but you need to consider light levels in your room, light levels in your street, cars driving past at night could trigger them or even if it gets very cloudy in the day which could cause unwanted triggering and unless used with light activated lights then you could be left in the dark
You can get smart ones which are synced to sunrise / sunset automatically for every day of the year or simple ones off a timer

Thank you for reply. I agree with you the sensor one can be problematic.
My house is at slight distance from the street but you are right, the clouds etc.
Thanks for bringing this up because now I remember someone told me about these automatic blinds they have installed on Shard in London. I think they also operated based on a light sensor.
As you can imagine these kept closing and opening all the time while the clouds were passing by.
Sunset / sunrise sounds like the best option.

Last thing you want is for the sensor to trigger and the blinds all opening when you are walking around the house in the buff :) :)

I think I don't mind but not a woman in the house. This light sensor thing would actually be silly because anyone could trigger it from outside with a torch. Perfect for pranksters.
