Lads,

Looking for a good powerful extractor fan for the toilet. Been looking on a few websites and to be honest, with the ones I've currently seen I would be better off getting the people to just blow the steam out the toilet themselves...

Anyone know anywhere good to buy one?

cheers,
Stevie

Steam? You talking about a bathroom or a single WC? Regs suggest (dictate on a new build) 15l/s for a bathroom, 6l/s for a WC.

Generally speaking, all 4" extractors are way more than that, but they're all pants in practice. A lot can be influenced as well by how well they are installed, too.

It's for a bathroom and another for a en-suite in a house. The ones that are in the now are totally mince.

Main in toilet is straight through the outside wall and the en-suite has to go up through the loft then outside. Looking for something more powerful to do the job.

Don't forget that you need a supply of 'fresh air' as well, it's no good just bunging a fan on a wall and expecting it to draw out the fumes of a decent ruby.

Cutting a small strip off the bottom of the door would certainly help!

I was thinking of telling them to just open the door, but what do I know.......

Anyways, thanks. Will have a look at those types.

I f its straight through the wall an axial fan.if there is length on the extraction duct then you need a centrifugal fan
In the end.especially with fans, you get what you pay for
A bog standard axial toilet fan will give bog standard performance and cost anything up to 20 quid

A decent make and one that will perform will cost at least 4 times that amount.it depends on how much value is put on the ventilation to determine how good the extraction will be
