Discuss How long for the assessment after booking with Stroma? in the Certification NICEIC, NAPIT, Stroma, BECSA Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net
Hi all
Looking at joining storma I have all my quals and public liability, what else is needed?
What do you need to show on the assment is a board change enough?
How long after you have paid the money, intill the assessment?
Thanks in advance

It's all just a Storma in a teacup.

Probably best contacting Stroma with these questions - I contacted them and apparently they won't take a board change as assessment - they want to see two new circuit installs.
Be interested to know what you find out though, as I'm sure others here have used board changes so just wondering if I'm speaking to a duffer.

This is also what I was told.

Just had my initial assessment this morning with them. I was required to show paperwork including:
- Insurance documents (ÂŁ250k PI required if adding commercial work, EICR, or 3rd party)
- Calibration certs
- Qualification certs
- Complaints procedure
- Health and safety policy
- Risk assessments
- Current regs and OSG
- Current version of EAWR
- A CV
- Proof of record keeping
- Proof of access to building regulation approved documents
I think that was the lot. I didn't have it all in place so some are getting sent on to them, i.e. they need copies of all paperwork not just a look at them.
All in all a pleasant experience with people who instil a sense of confidence with a thorough assessment process. Just like Elecsa used to be...
Re: Storma
Do you need to pay extra for the commercial and eicr? Also what would I need to do about recored keeping and compliants procedure as ill only just be starting up?
Cheers

Commercial work and EICR is at no extra charge.
A commercial job is needed to look at and knowledge of commercial installation and three phase testing procedures is tested.
For EICR I think they require specific testing and inspection qualifications, they certainly do for the 3rd party scheme, and testing in the form of questions regarding common issues about coding, observations, procedure etc. They also go through previous reports.
For record keeping they were happy seeing my digital files of completed certs and the complaints procedure was a generic thing I had left over from Elecsa membership.
Re: Storma
Cool I'm gonna get my self booked in, how long did you have to wait for the assment?
Re: Storma
I think about 4 weeks. Ring them to confirm current waiting times though.
Re: Storma
Andy did they mention anything about CDM records?

Hmmm, no I don't recall that.

There is a CDM app available. Unfortunately my PC printer is not iPhone friendly. But it's seems simple to complete.

Yeah, it's a doddle really - don't even need to print, just keep a digital copy of them all. Was just curious whether Stroma mentioned CDM because I heard scams were starting to ask about it and advising their members to start keeping records.
Re: Storma
Know Elecsa will, cos they do a nice little online CDM course for fifty quid! How do you store the CDM app details?
Re: Storma
Bit of an echo in here
Re: Storma
Accepted if you can tell this idiot how to print them off, without a compatible printer?
Re: Storma
After saving them can't you send them via email then print them off at home from your PC or Laptop, Tell you what I will try it and deffo let you know :computer:
