Hi,

Im looking at installing power to a GARAGE the garage is around 30meters from the consumer unit and will be drilled through the wall clipped up the wall and across a centenary wire into the garage to a new two way consumer unit in the garage.. Which is going to supply 1 x Double socket and 2 x fluorescents and a 360 sensor.

What size cable and what type of cable will i need and what size breaker for the consumer unit will i need? (It has RCD protection and the new board will also be RCD Protected)

Get an electrician to do this work for you, as this is LABC notifiable work!!! If you do this work yourself that LABC fee alone could cost you anywhere between 150 to 350 quid!! lol!! With a part P authorized electrician that fee is negated...

TBH with you. We could go round and round in circles having a laugh at your expense. Which is not fair on you.

None of us here will want to give you advice about installing circuits in locations which are susceptible to higher degrees of shock and damage where it is obvious that you do not have enough experience.

We all, or most of us, have our PI insurance to protect.

Having said that, this subject has been covered several times in past posts, so you might like to have a browse through and see if you can glean some information.

IMO, I would recommend that you get quotes from local Electricians and see how they pan out.

Sorry chap, I've got to agree with the others, if you have to ask questions like that it's obvious you are not compentant to carry out the work safely. I wouldn't expect to ask you a few pointers then do whatever you do as a day job with the same level of skill. I appreciate it's for yourself but it will be someone else's property someday and them that may run risks from your wiring. I see this forum as a place for qualified electricians to share knowledge, not somewhere any member of the public can ask questions to save themselves a few quid.
I'm not being harsh or having a go but one of the reasons a lot of us are struggling because people are breaking the law and doing jobs themselves.
Be realistic, can you say you know how to do electrical work well enough in order to keep yourself and your family safe?

not to mention the cost of buying a MFT in order to ensure that the installation is safe.
