does anybody know the answer to, " state the three steps taken when a correctly carried insulation resistance test produces unsatisfactory results?

The IP rating for a lighting switch 1.2m from the edge of the bath?

I've moved your question here for you Imran so you'll get better assistance with it.

Might be best if you tell us what you think the answers to your questions are, then we can try and point you in the right direction if you are wrong, people sometimes get wound up if you just ask, without giving you perceived answers, good luck.

A pointer to assist you:
You may find what you are looking for on the OSG Page 83 for the second question, and OSG Page 96 for your 1st question, hope this helps

Would the answer not depend also on whether its on Initial verification or EICR?

Is this a college assignment mate?
Probably is, that's why I asked him to give us his interpretation of what the answers are, and where he may find the answers.

It's an exam for initial verification, for the first question I would of thought the answer is to isolate circuit and inform relevant parties and as for the ip rating I would of joyful it would be ipx4.

Have you checked the OSG Mate? it's not in zone 2 it's 1.2mtrs away

You have an installation that has come back U/S so I assume you have done a global I/R test
My thoughts are:
Step one make sure you don't have any lamps, indicators etc still connected
Step two Test each circuit individually
Step three locate and repair the fault

Remember you ahve aready done the test so you have no need to inform anyone, as you have already switched off and isolated the supply

Prob gonna look stupid now, but minimum degree of protection outside zones is IPXXB or IP2X. Although I still wouldn't like a wall mounted switch in bathroom.

Pete, think you might have two people mixed up here. Newbyspark's answer above was his first attempt (and I think it's correct), it was the OP who gave an answer based on the switch being in zone 2 (which it isn't, as you say). :)

I realised that after I posted it see we all make mistakes

Why are tests required to be carried out in a set sequence?

It's an IV Pete, there should not have been a supply switched on to it at this point.

Part 2 of BS7671, "Definitions", gives you your answer. :)

From how I have understood it to be, line is referring to a conductor the that electrical energy passes through on its own and live being a conductor which also has electrical energy passing through including neutral

Q. State four operational considerations relating to the electrical installation that must be discussed with the client I order to agree the limitations and plan the work?

Is this referring to page 113 of bs7671 when asked about naming operational considerations?

Are we talking installation or testing limitations?
