does anybody know the answer to, " state the three steps taken when a correctly carried insulation resistance test produces unsatisfactory results?

The IP rating for a lighting switch 1.2m from the edge of the bath?

Probably is, that's why I asked him to give us his interpretation of what the answers are, and where he may find the answers.

It's an exam for initial verification, for the first question I would of thought the answer is to isolate circuit and inform relevant parties and as for the ip rating I would of joyful it would be ipx4.

Who's the relevant parties. If it's initial verification it would be down to you to find and rectify.

Have you checked the OSG Mate? it's not in zone 2 it's 1.2mtrs away

It's an exam for initial verification, for the first question I would of thought the answer is to isolate circuit and inform relevant parties and as for the ip rating I would of joyful it would be ipx4.

You have an installation that has come back U/S so I assume you have done a global I/R test
My thoughts are:
Step one make sure you don't have any lamps, indicators etc still connected
Step two Test each circuit individually
Step three locate and repair the fault

Remember you ahve aready done the test so you have no need to inform anyone, as you have already switched off and isolated the supply

Prob gonna look stupid now, but minimum degree of protection outside zones is IPXXB or IP2X. Although I still wouldn't like a wall mounted switch in bathroom.

Pete, think you might have two people mixed up here. Newbyspark's answer above was his first attempt (and I think it's correct), it was the OP who gave an answer based on the switch being in zone 2 (which it isn't, as you say).
