Hey guys!

Just signed up today and thought i'd throw a message in the forum to introduce myself.

I'm Andy, currently attending evening college to study C&G 2365 level 2. It's a complete career change for me, having worked since i was 16 (12 years!!) as an auditor. Stepping out of my comfort zone and pushing myself to do something i enjoy rather than letting life pass by.

I've enjoyed every second of the college so far, working with my hands and using my head for mathematics and problem solving is exactly what i was looking for, beats sitting in an office all day! I'm incredibly keen to learn so appreciate all you guys on the forum helping newbies to the electrical scene out.

Level 2 finishes in June, and i'll be throwing myself straight on to level 3 in September of this year.

Look forward to soaking up all your wisdom!

Cheers,
Andy

Haha thanks everyone!

Other than the classic tongue on a 9v battery as a kid I'm yet to experience the introductory shock, I would say I can't wait, but for this I actually can

Can't wait to pick all your brains!:thumbsup:

First thing I do with a 9v battery - must be just me!
Welcome to the forum.
Read and read and read!
If You have a thought or question, search it on the forum as it will have been asked before.
Not just technical or theory but ‘best ways to do this and that’, as sometimes the answer doesn’t come naturally.
My first thought when I started was ‘what’s the correct way to joint a cable that needs extending’ - many joints later, the rest is history!

Best advice I can give, is try not to come across as a know it all in your first 24 hours, boasting of your incredible success, 5 sports cars and a house in poshest posh London Town.

It doesn’t half wind some of the oldies up.

You're kidding me?! - I thought that once you'd passed level 3 you were automatically given a certificate, keys to a Jaguar and the deeds to a 5 bedroom house with a pool!... next you'll be telling me Santa isn't real!

Appreciate the advice! - Definitely not the industry for pretend know it alls! Willing to work my socks off to get to where i want to be!

Cheers!

All the best for college I have just completed the level 2. Now on the level 3 which is certainly an eye opener compared to the level 2

Welcome,dude......so you want to turn up,when it's a "have to" and not a "want to"...have everybody wonder what you are doing...not have time to explain what you are doing...have little or nothing visible,to show what you have done...and hand a nice bill in,for the privilege...

Yep...it's gonna be nothing like auditing....;);)
