Does this electrician exist or is it another way to get info without declaring you are a DIYer even if he is on holiday he would still be logging into his emails checking his phone or even getting someone to do it for him ?????? Hence why I will not input to these types of posts anymore ie spending 2 pages to suss out what is going on. Why do I think this well it is the weekend

I don't see why you are on here asking about socket heights etc when your "holiday" electrician has told you already, if you don't believe or trust his advise then get another.

Your posts have shown that you are not competent enough to carry out this work, leave the electrician to do it, he would have to clear up after himself which would save you a job.

Maybe there should be a DIY board so at least folk know what they are dealing with?

Oh wait there is Home : Screwfix Community Forum

Now there a contridiction in term Screwflux has Electroflux counters that will only sell to electricians yet Joe public can nip next door and buy the same stuff ??

Guys I'm late to the thread IMO you have sussed ted out but give the guy a break at least hes come on here for some advice so he gets it right, he's now realised he's out his depth so help him out hes in Swansea also people are not spending money are they even if they have any. His height of 1100 was spoton too but to bottom of socket not the top above the worktop.
Spread some love lol

If there really is an electrician, then all you need to do is say "Sorry, but I need you to take over the whole installation now as I am out of my depth".
No more worrying about heights, depths, runs, just all handed over to the professional. Sorted.

I always ask for height of worktop, then add a tile height, makes it easy for the tiler rather than having to potentially cut 4 tiles for 1 socket.

Thats the way to do it depending on the size of the tiles , if you are tiling it yourself will save you loads of work . Ten minuets thought worth two hours work.

it dont matter....you get a small grinder with a diamond wheel on it....then place the tile where its to go (allowing for grout gaps)...mark off then cut it with the grinder....any flake/spelch from the tile will be hidden by the socket fromt....job sorted....and any tiler or anyone involved in tiling will/should have a small grinder.....

Granted but easier to have a level base line and nice to show a bit of consideration, tilers can get you work too you know.
