LED TUBES REPLACING NORMAL 6ft T8 HF .....HEADACHE not working

Hi All,

My client has asked me to replace some regular T8 flourescent 6ft tubes with new leds.

We put them in like for like but nit coming on.

When I mentioned to the wholesaler who supplied the tubes, they said I might need to recon figure the wiring in the fittings.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

You need to remove the ballast wiring and supply 230V to the tube.

As above, and also remember that most led tubes only need 230v to one end of the tube

There are a couple of different types of LED replacement tubes one will work with the existing choke / ballast in circuit the other type requires the choke / ballast to be removed

Wire one end of fitting direct to L & N

Is this the same for twin fittings? Do u just link both lamps at one end?

Also can the same be done for an emergency light

I think you need to identify what lamps you have there are a few different configurations of LED tube if you read the ESC safety report you will probably get a better understanding of what you have got and need to do to get them operational

There usually instructions with the tubes as there all different...

Ive had ones which where line one end and neutral the other...
