what sort of advice? I mean the term itself is fairly self explanatory, no? I can say there is often confusion between assessing the risk and the method statement often encountered on site. Most people conflate the two and repeat the risks. Where in fact the Method Statement is about how you will work actually in order to obviate or avoid the risks you have outlined. Usually the risk matrix is used where the y axis is the chance from 1-5 and the severity the x axis (say) from 1-5 so very likely and severe is the highest risk/danger of harm the risk matrix is coloured from green top right through orange mid range to red on high alert range. On towers and cherry pickers no harness is approved. The method of getting to the work point, lanyards for tools, barriers for public/visitors, first aid designation, are some of the factors to look at quite aside from falling! Risk is the danger of harm through identified ways it may occur, so tools falling is the risk, lanyards are the method of working. Overhead lines are a biggy to ensure no one gets electrocuted (risk) method careful examination on site of where you are working and siting work away from such danger, If the danger is there such as overhead lines then maybe you cannot do the work especially if high voltage. Weather is another factor risk in rain/storm of falling or harm, method, go indoors, maybe cancel work if the wind is over 25 mph and so on. There is a document that you can specifically search for RAMS and working at height, or purchase for a few quid then fill it in. Depends if you are on a proper site where the have the site foreman who will have you off site if you are not properly kitted out or working safely or an empty site?
