Quick question to electricians - I want to add metal-plated sockets to newly plastered walls.

The electrical wholesaler advised that newly plastered walls need 6 months to dry and thinks that the sockets will corrode if installed at the time 2nd fix. My builder and electrician don't think they will.

I am considering the BG Lexus sockets.

Wondering whether anyone has experience of metal sockets and newly plastered walls.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, the metal can tarnish with damp walls…

Some metal switches come with plastic frames that sit between wall and metal.

Remember to use the earth connection on the back of the switch.
