I was reading yesterday that crows can remember a human's face for 2 years, so if you let a crow get away there's a good chance it'll remember you and warn off its mates in the future.
The crow and it's whole extended family are some of the most intelligent animals on the planet, let alone amongst just birds.
I once got given some shooting advice from a farmer though. Crows are clever, but they can't count. If 5 fellas with guns walk into a wood and three walk out, the crows don't reckon on the two left inside and return to their roosts.
