I have a loop circuit in a 70's house and i am trying to fit a new light fitting to the old circit, i have wired it up so far so that the lights on the rest of the circuit work, but the one i am replacing doesnt work, please help, i have attached a image of the wires so far.

The three reds should not be connected to the new light they need to be in a separate connector on their own. Are the rest of the lights all definitely working and are the two blacks not connected touching each other.
Is that live at the moment.

thank you, the rest of the lights are working fine when it's linked like in the image, if the 2 blacks aren't touching the circuit doesn't work. it is currently live so the other lights in the house on that loop work.
 
Stroke of luck you have found the neutrals from the three blacks.
Separate the three reds into their own connector with no connection to the new light.The black you currently have connected to the blue connect to the brown at the connector (This is actually a switch line return). The two separated blacks connect both to the blue at the connector.
DO NOT GET THE BLACKS MIXED UP.
