I have been asked to put a double socket outside.
I have a ip66 rated protected double socket with built in RCD. I was thinking of just coming straight out back of lounge socket (ring main with rcd at cu protected) through wall into back of outside double socket on the other side.
Can this be a spur of the ring main or do I have to extend the ring to include the outside socket?
Any advice would be apperciated..

General ring main regs apply....ie, the number of spurs must not exceed the number of sockets on the ring.
If you install an RCD protected socket you may find pressing the test button will trip both the socket and CU rcd....change your socket for a non rcd version.
