Hi All,
I am adding new sockets, switches and light fittings to a refitted industrial unit. The original 3 phase. board is about 40years old with cartridge fuses. Is there any problem installing a new single phase board for the new circuits via a 63amp cartridge fuse from the old board. Also the existing lights have been spurred off the old power radial supply,do the new lights have to be on their own circuit or can i spur off from either a new ring or the old power radial as it is now. Many thanks

Are you sure the fuse carriers will take the 63 amps you require? they have their rating stamped on the top, if that is ok then yes you can install a single phase board.

As for the lights, it doesn't make any difference if you are correct on loadings etc etc but I would have thought you would be much better to install a new circuit from the dis board
