Passed my CSCS test but can't get my card?

The form requires I fill out employer details which at the moment I don't have. Do I have to wait until I have an employer until I can apply for the card? I am hoping to get a red trainee card as I am at college on the 2330 but didn't realise I had to have employment to get the card so feels like I am back to chicken and egg situation :D
