approved voltage indicator or a low resistance ohm meter, as lenny said in a previous post get yourself a gn3, loads of good straight forward instructions and pics in there

Normally carried out when testing continuity of cpcs or continuity of ring final conductors.

Live polarity is the first live test that is carried out when you energise an installation after all of the dead tests are complete.

can i make a suggestion and i am not being derogatory either, with your best interests in mind i would suggest you start off with the dead tests first and do not go near the live testing. knock yourself a little test rig up and practice the continuity and ir tests on there. if you are not doing much testing at work or college if your in the trade pick the guys brains as you are working with them. get yourself a copy of the niceic dvd or even type into you ttube the test you are not sure on.

I am sorry but I really dont understand your points, in what context are you asking these questions?

If your out there doing work then you know the answers............................
