Acoording to the Building Regs Guide , cooker switches should be installed between 200mm and 2 metres from the appliance, should be READILY ACCESSIBLE, and should be installed on the fabric of the building.

Job today all isolation switches were located inside the kitchen cabinets, low level, right at the back because the customer didn't want any switches spoiling the look of the new kitchen.

My question is : Is this acceptable?
 
Thats down to the house owner from your point of view the proerty has to be in the same condition or better when you leave it and I think the word preferably is used which means it is not an absolute requirement.

Glad you used that word Acat i hate doing it but i had to mount a socket for a dish washer in a cupboard ,customers ill tell you ill get my kitchen fittind and tiled then ill get the spark in to put the sockets in arrgghhh , ah back to the question i would like to point out its 300 mm in the building rgs from the sink or cooker im being picky not that building controll are bothered
