I have a pretty basic question on suitability of a shower digital mixer valve. Checked with the the manufacturer Mira, who insisted that it should only be used with their shower heads, etc. Asked why, looked around, etc but can't seem to find a clear answer why.

Basically I have read the manual (their fittings look pretty similar to other fittings) and cannot see why this unit would not work other shower heads. Am I missing something?

Here are the details

Mira Platinum Valve & Controller - High Pressure / Combi Boiler by Mira Showers - https://www.mirashowers.co.uk/showers/digital-showers/mira-platinum-valve-controller-high-pressure-combi-boiler/

Here is a link to the spec sheet and drawing:

Here is a link to the manual:

Any help appreciated!

The first thing they'll look to in a warrantee claim is, has it been installed according to manufactures instructions.

Now in all probability there is no difference in the fittings but are you happy to carry the cost in the event they kick back on a warrantee claim.

If it was in my own house and there was a good enough reason, maybe but for a paying customer, no.

Edit, after looking at the pdf, it's one complex piece of kit and it's not beyond the realms of probability that it relies on a certain back pressure range given by their showerheads.

Thanks for your advice on this GBDamo. I see what you're saying.

Are you by any chance aware of any similar digital mixer valve manufacturers who don't have this type of restriction?

Basically I have been asked to find something similar to use with this fancy looking Nebia spa shower head:

Indeed if there was back pressure you run the risk of burning out the heat exchanger for hot water in the combi. Quite an expensive mistake. So they do have back pressure valves in mixers and if you get it wrong then...the above.
