what is the name for the item I will need to increase the power of an electrical pulse from a circuit. situation is I have phone which I want to connect a much larger speaker in place of the other current speaker, obviously the power provided by the phone is not enough to power the speaker I want to use and the wires from the circuit board are not thick enough for the required current. so I'm assuming cut the current speaker off plug those wires in to a device which also has a separate battery connected to it and more wires leading to the new speaker. but what is that device that I need, is it a relay of some sort?

you can'tpower a speaKer from a D.C. source, nor can you energise a relay with an audio signal.
