Afternoon

An internal swimming pool (recessed into the concrete floor of a basement in a domestic house)

The pool has a metal frame

However all pipes feeding the pool are plastic

Am i right in thinking I do not need to bond the metal frame as it is not a extraneous metal part ?
nor do I need to TT the single phase circuit supplying the 6kw heater ?

It is a 4mm SWA protected by a 32a 30ma RCD

The pool, even though indoors, is in contact with the Earth via concrete so it is "extraneous" and needs bonding to construction rebar / metalwork, etc, or possibly even an earth mat (if TN-C-S supply, see blow to check regs). You may well see resistances to earth well under 100 ohm via damp concrete which is quite enough to cause open-PEN grief.

While you are unlikely to really see serious fault currents, check the minimum bod size as on TN-C-S it is going to be at least 10mm, and if it is related to the 200A plan in another thread, check the table for the values there.

Also look over the special area rules for swimming pools, not something I know the details of (beyond the fact it is in the regs and a very clear risk of shock).

I personally would go down the bonding route than even considering TT-ing it internally as too much risk of other circuit's CPCs being close.

bond it back to the DB or just link all metal parts together?
