Discuss Time delay relay in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Most lock keypads have lock timing built in.
I normally use the ACT5e keypads and haven't had an issue with them yet.
Just wondering how that keypad would work on a shutter door, where you would normally hold the button or sprung key lock over to go up or down.

That depends on how the shutter currently operates.
If it has a button which needs to be held in to open then you'd probably put the keypad in series with the button so that the button only works when the correct code is entered.
If it has a button which you press and then release to open then they keypad could replace the button and have it's unlock time set to minimum.

Assuming this keypad is for access control then there'd be no need for the keypad to affect operation of the close button and that could be left as it is.

Obviously all of this would be subject to the installer having done the safety risk assessments etc and confirming compliance with legislation.
