My elbow is out of calibration and i would like to use a torque screwdriver instead, its something ive been putting off but i have finally caved.

What torque screwdriver is everyone using?

A little review would also be helpful

How do you check calibration of a torque driver? Tape measure and a known weight?

You can get torque calibrators. They used to be calibrated springs with a dial indicator I believe. Nowadays they are more likely to be load cells and digital displays.

As far as I know you clamp them to a fixed surface, attached the torque driver set to a specific torque setting and then turn it to check the mechanisms breaks at the specified torque.

One would assume they test at several points across the range of adjustment and possibly generate a torque curve for the tool.

interesting! so who calibrates the calibrator machine?
they must eventually pop to France and try them on the IPK - no kidding they have an official Kilogram weight under glass domes, and if that's lost we don't know what a KG is any more: BIPM - IPK - https://www.bipm.org/en/bipm/mass/ipk/

E30? pfffff. i've got a WD40.

Handy for you to lube up then.......

doubt it.when the septics went home in 1945, their sales slumped. and our women had to come back to the real world where nothing is for nothing.

I have both the Armeg and Wiha and I am not convinced they are any good, keep snapping off the blades of the armeg and the Wiha seems to rip screws to shreds. I tend to do up by hand and then check with the torque driver which works for me. If I had to choose between the two I would buy the Armeg as easier to use and a better design!
