Hi,
on the schedule of circuit details and test results how is a multi cable type circuit recorded on the type of wiring?
eg. in the circuit i am testing it is Twin & Earth through the house, then pvc singles in galv steel conduit on exterior wall then SWA to feed garden lights, which types should be recorded on cert?

Are these the NICEIC domestic EIC ones? I think you mean where at the bottom of the sheet they give you a code for method of installation and type of cable , I think.

As the Schedule of Test Results in the BS 7671-2008 don't require that sort of infomation, then what this schedule is asking on the sheets are an extra they think you need to have. IMO I would either call them and ask them for guidance, or if it were me I would just put whatever the largest percentage of cable was, As to be honest I can't see what difference it would make. If it was something required in the Regulations I would imagine that it would have been included on their own forms

type A is pvc/pvc, i.e Twin and Skin.

Have to agree with Malcolm, they tend to try fill their certificates up with all sorts of information they themselves have decided is useful

I would just try to shove in something like A/B or 1/2/4 or whatever and not really concern myself with it too much

Thanks for replies guys, the certs are easycert and i believe they are very simillar to the NICEIC ones, with it being pc based the software will only allow me to select one wiring type, ill record it as PVC/PVC as this is the largest percentage as per malcomsanford sggestion also has the least mechanical protection.

Yes, always record the worst value scenario i.e lowest CCC, lowest permissable Zs, worst installation factor etc etc. That way you know the rest of the circuit will conform regardless.

every time i mention mint sauce round here the sheep go pale ......... oh and back on to the topic its A PVC /PVC , if it does change to singles in steel trunking then jot it down in the limitations box then you covered it all IE starts of at the board in PVC ,then changes to mims then to singles in trunking , then to SWA , and it does happen especially on large old buildings that have been added to over the years

i take it as the worst case for heat disapation and or csa in this id go for type a mate

Does anyone ...........if bothered of course...................understand the reasoning behind this? As this information is not on the model forms in the BS 7671-2008, why other forms feel the neccessity to want this.

i think its just more info on the circuit. the more the better, this will all change in a month or 2 remember, then we will be expected to record the colour of our underwear we had on when we installed the circuit lol.

I think it's because all the regulating bods are trying to out do each other and it backs the argument for one single bod. Too many bods with vested interests and just trying to drum up profit by saying to guys look at us we are better than the other lot! IMO of course lol.
