So picuture under cabinet lights, a 230 supply from a spur, to a LED tamlite driver, and 2 lights coming off of this... why is it that one of the lamps fails weekly and the other one has been going strong for over a year..

As above. That 'transformer' is a power supply designed for halogen lights.
You'll need either an LED driver - compatible with the LED lamps - or dump the lot and install a 230v LED system.
