Okay,

So we've been running with various bugs for ages. The transfer was long overdue. We've done it now, we're fully on the new server.

I'm tweaking the forum now and fixing the bugs so give me a couple of days before you start to tell me what's not working etc please. :)

Hi Dan,

Not a complaint, but a couple of questions.

Is it safe to assume that the posts which appear to have vanished will not be making a return?

My avatar has disappeared, should I upload a replacement or is it an indication there is an issue you may need to investigate/resolve (in which case, I'll leave it alone for the time being)?

Yes and yes. :)

Ok, thought as much on the posts front.

But is that a yes to upload a replacement or leave as is to allow you to investigate?

No, upload a replacement. It's lost.

A fair few images went. Avatars I'm not too fussed about. But thread-content I am. So once I've finished tweaking and securing, I'll take a look into that kinda stuff.

Seems a few people are having cache-related issues. It's still propagating the move. So might take a few hours (upto 24) to fully refresh through all the various networks between the server and various home hubs and routers and whatnot. Getting a lot of email replies saying they are hitting a error 500 page etc.

So thanks to those for hanging in there, when they eventually see this. Hope it has been worth it.

The numbers have gone a bit wonky! 1234567890 At least 6&8 are OK :). It's good to have the upload things working properly again!

Edit: they are correct after posting! :D

Not sure if that's an inside joke or whether your device isn't loading Google fonts and it's a genuine issue lol

@Dan ,

It's the font being used by the editors text entry area.

If I inspect the text entry area with FireBug, it's font list is:-

Titillium Web,Georgia,"Times New Roman",Times,serif

The preview itself is correct and appears to be using the same font as posts do when they are displayed in the forums.

I think he's just sticking a strike through and underline on some of it. The text being rendered is as intended.

After looking at it again, I think you're right.

But anyway. It's not a problem. Think it's times new roman isn't it that does that?

I think the correct term for it in font speak is kerning???

Having just done a quick search, it's not Titillium Web as that appears to be the one used for the main posts, I think it's Georgia that's doing it.

Yeah, Titillium is a google font and I haven't got round to adding the code here yet. We're sort of piggy-backing off tilersforums.co.uk with some content here while I sort it out.

Hi Dan,

Overall, I'm liking the new look, but it's got that trend that a lot of new sites have.... varying shades of grey text in small fonts. I'm struggling to read some of the text because there just isn't enough contrast between the background and the grey text, like some of the detail under the thread title on the new posts page, and username/timestamp on posts.
