if you've got an existing alarm stick a volt free relay on the existing sounder output instal a banshee siren .
If it dosent stop'em ( if your close enough long enough some can make your ears bleed ) at least everyone in a half mile radius will know about it

You can get a big Van Vault for £165 from Toolstation. It's pretty obvious that all my tools are in there if anybody was to peer through the back window.

seriously though a van vault and motion sensor with a very loud siren works pretty good
