I have just received my domestic installer qualification certificates in the post so next step is to look for some work experience. Can anyone provide help on the following questions?
Last but not least…. If anyone out there is looking for additional pairs of hands in the Reading, Oxford, Didcot, Wallingford area then please get in touch.
Cheers,
Simon.
- Hourly rate – As a new apprentice what can I expect to get as an hourly rate? I live in Oxfordshire if that helps as I guess rates must vary around the UK. I basically want to make sure that someone does not take me for a ride just because I am inexperienced.
- Payment – If I got part time work or was paid per job (rather than being fully employed) what would be the normal method to get paid? Do I need to invoice them, make myself a contractor, or register as my own company?
- Insurance – If I become a part-time jobbing electrician working for a company would it be advisable to get my own insurance cover, rather than rely on the cover provided by the firm whilst undertaking the work?. If so, what cover would I need to get? can anyone recommend good insurance company’s to get a quote?.
