hi all

just wondering if out there working for joe public, electricians really test and complete certs for minor works like change sockets switches etc.

If it's changing an existing fitting, I don't usually worry about a Minor works certificate. I always check the ends of a ring/radial socket ciruit at the CU though.

what do you mean by check the ends of a radial???

are you saying you short them together at a socket to make a loop and check at the CU:confused:

I test everything i do and would issue a minor works cert for an accesory change

If the person youre working for doesnt want to pay for a professional job they can get the bloke down the pub to do it then i'll come in to put it right:)

I love it when people change their own lights- all the reds together-all the blacks together- £25 for me to find the switch wire:D

very sorry to hijack your answer platform I've just finished my 2391 a wee bit ****ed and I can't find where on the site to post my views. Just me being drunk I'm sure!!
