My favourite plumber was a fella called.....Pete the leak!......how he ever got any work was beyond me ?
Every switch I look in is like this.View attachment 55049
That’s a holder for the spare terminal screw mate.....your welcomeI’m sure that earth terminal on the grid is there for a reason.... just escapes me for the moment though..![]()
How is it that wet pants can charge so much and install stuff as they please?! Never worked that one out. We‘re just finishing up an expensive, high finish job and the plumbers fudged up on nearly all the radiators - pipes in the wrong place. Wet pants blamed the apprentice but he stood over him whilst the apprentice did the install. ?
None are earthed. There are also standard plate switches on metal back boxes, all cpcs in Wagos.I’m sure that earth terminal on the grid is there for a reason.... just escapes me for the moment though..![]()
Picasso would be proud of that.If my memory is working correctly there are 38 cables in this lighting junction box. No the lid doesn't fit properly.

I started by taking the photo, then finished by putting the ceiling tile back in the grid. That lighting junction box makes me feel slightly queasy...
Where would you start?
Mind you, I found 2 like that in the attic of my last house and everything worked...
Yep, thought there might be some underlying reasonsnot bubbling mate...seething. was a plumber stole my socket tester. a plumber stole my set of wera screwdrivers. was a plumber that burnt 10 of my alarm cables with his blowtorch. was a plumber that that threaded his plastic pipes through my cable holes. nah, i don't dislike plumbers, i hate them with a passion ( appart from Barry the Bath that fixes wet things that i come across from time to time. fair price and reliable.if youse on forum Barry, a bottle of Laphroiag would be welcome).).

Just think of them as forward facing ventilation holes. Another thought, it also allows you to probe them without removing the cover, convenient.took me a moment to spot the problem of accessible terminals to be fair.

They never bothered fitting an RCD either.Apart from the lack of stand-off brackets, the poor termination of CPC, and the lack of any strain relief or other clipping...
not bad really!
This is a tenement building. I don't think there was ever any insulation here to begin with!Did you remove the insulation blanket or was it cut away by the installer
Sorry, I thought I saw remnants of loft insulation in a couple of the pics!
Still, access looks quite good...
carry on!
i'd show fury if there was nothing to eat up there. Is that wild rice I see there, or have they fury friends?
Some thieving bastid stole it then!
Aye Richy ..... Barry and Kevin are nationwide .....
Wait is the pipe stat on the gas pipe?!When our place was built, they forgot to install the spec’ frost & pipe stat.
Well that’ll stop the gas from freezingWait is the pipe stat on the gas pipe?!

I think the correct pipe comes in the bottom of the boiler... so I think the flex will be long enough. (could be wrong, but thinking the 2 pipes in view are the flow and return)Lol at least the flex looks long, perhaps it will reach the correct pipe!

Is there enough silicon where the wall meets the ceiling?
Well spotted that man. But I think others have. Was going to complain to the developers, but didn't wanna burst that apprentice bubble.
