Did a lighting job a few days ago in a sports hall , changing out dimmable surface mounted light to 600x600 LED panels .
There was a bit of rewireing to allow for standard switching as the old setup was a mains feed round the lights and a 2 core belden from a refractive switch .

Seemed to all go to plan , however I’ve had a report this morning of lights flickering and they want me back out to sort it , which I intend to do .

There are emergency lights in the hall that share the same circuit , they seem to be some sort of Dali system and go into self test mode . I’m wondering if anyone would know if this could be causing the flickering issue before i start wasting time looking for loose connections etc .

My theory is that with the lighting being changed to LED and also standard switching , when the emg lights go into self test mode , they send some sort of pulse that causes the flickering .

I could be totally wrong in this theory , I’m just wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this .

Many thanks

I once had a bathroom led light that would stay on dimly as the fan timer kept running the fan.

Putting the light on a double pole switch solved it…. Cutting off the neutral as well as the live.

Could your issue be ghost voltages in cables run too close together?

Is the flashing constant now, or can you directly link it to the same times as the em light tests?

I haven’t been back to the job yet but from what I can gather , it appears to be when the emg lights go into self test mode
