has anyone any experience of this. The boiler is 14 years old and has only just gone wrong. when the boiler engineer looked at it he found there was 240v between the neutral and earth inside the boiler unit.
Hi all,
A friend of mine who owns a shop has asked me if I can do some load balancing on the three phase board in the shop.
In my career I have mostly done domestic and light commercial so three phase load balancing is something I havent yet carried out.
Am i right in thinking it is just a...
Hello,
I live in jordan. We have a 380Vp-p, star, 4-wire, earthed neutral connection to the building. We get 220V to the apartment. I have recently installed an EV charging station for my car. The electrician got the station’s hot wire from one of the building phases. But, for some reason, he...
Hi Guys.
I'm in a tight spot and require a high integrity split load 22way (28modules total ) but NOT a stacked board but in a single row. I've seen one made by Proteus/M2 but Id rather not use CEF. Has anyone else come across one?
Many Thanks in advance
Got an issue at home, today I got home and found one of the RCD's had tripped on my split load Wylex DB.
I tried to reset but it wasn't having it. Switched all MCB's off on the RCD (Call it number 1) that had tripped then reset. All was ok, switched each MCB on and stayed in.
Put the kettle on...
We've had this discussion before, but does anyone have any idea what load can be put through a double socket?
The socket in question is an MK logicplus, installed in a commercial kitchen. The supply cable is 6mm, converted from a previous cooker circuit to a double socket. (information gathered...
Hi
With a standard 13 amp domestic uk 3 pin socket the max load is 13 amps i believe?. So does this mean that a DOUBLE socket would have a max load of 26 amps....OR is a double socket still only 13 amps?. In one part of the double socket i have ( on a 3 way adapter) a tv, a blu ray player and a...
Hi all,
I am looking for some expert advice and knowledge to help get my head around an alternator load problem.

Evening all
Curious as to what you all do to increase your workload i.e. networking groups, agency work/subbing, pay for leads etc?
Currently I'm only a year in to going it alone and looking at ways to fill the diary out and increase customer base.
Cheers
with a single UPS rated at 8KVA, 230v, stating maximum input current of 44A, would the over current device, cable size etc be based on the 8KVA installed load (the UPS), or, the actual load of 8A, connected to the output of the UPS ?
this is a fixed installation, supplying computer based loads...
In my current smart home project I have a total load in the panel of around 30A. Should I just use one big PSU rated at 30A or split the load across say three 10A PSU's?
Is this appropriate if off a ring final circuit and would testing just require testing the new cable installed. Both required for separate fixed Paxton access control unit boxes
Hi guys, we look after an industrial factory and they are wanting a new DB, they are expecting in the future around 5 machines all 3 phase so ive allowed an 8 way.
At the moment i know about 3 machines, a machine that pulls max 40amp per phase and 2 machines that pull around 13amps max per...
Hi hope you can advise. I've just purchased a 2500w, 230-240v, fitted with 12.4 amp fuse heat press for my small business which came with a 13amp plug. I've been advised it's safe to plug into its own domestic wall socket. However it's a double wall socket and normally in the other socket i have...
Hi all, quick one that I’m guessing one of you guys will solve quickly! Currently been doing some work on an old wartime building and trying to get power back onto some son floodlights after some demolition work internally, I’ve got 240v across line and neutral at the junction box (that’s...
Hi Everyone
I would be glad if you could clarify this for me:
For a Load Estimate Survey whereby 95% is single phase, the Load Estimate is 90 KVA (Single Phase). However, the power supply is three phase 4 wire system.
To calculate the current per phase, the 90 kVA is divided by three i.e. 30...

Evening guys
I was asked a question earlier and i was unsure if my answer was correct, I was asked if I could install 3x power showers all 3 are 9.5kw I’ve been assured the water supply is more then capable, the board has a 100amp main switch
My initial reaction was no, it’s way over the the...
