Mr Brown ran out of cash last year. He has now maxxed out all his credit cards as well.
I am not bothered about a possible 18th edition. This time next year I reckon that will be the least of my worries. This country will be a basket case on a par with the economy of Zimbabwae.

Possibly mate, but where do you see yourself working next year:confused:

This is an electrician's forum. So sparking would be a good choice.

No need to be sarcastic, I was only trying to clarify what you were asking.

TBH I don't know. I run my own building firm so electrical is only part of my business.I am hoping that as I can cover most aspects of work I will be able to carry on. However as I see it the whole construction industry will be fubared by this time next year.Just have to soldier on:).

the 16th was about for years why would the 17th be a 5 minute wonder

i will have to change the message at the bottom of my replies again to included 18
oh dear when will the counting ever stop !?!

I served my time under the 14th edition in the late 70's, then the 15th came in early 80's, 16th early to mid 90's (I think) the 17th in 2008. That suggests we shouldnt see an 18th until 2018 -2020. I cant keep up with having to do more learning every ten years or so as it is :)

At least Dick Whittington had the decency to wear a mask.

Do you not mean Dick Turpin as Dick wittington is a pantomine character who became Lord Mayor of London?:p;)

Thats about right as they normally have 2 amendments per edition before new edition comes out.

I have heard rumours about an amendment concerning RCDing everything from a big inspection and test company......

In Canada (& us) their rcd sockets are rated at 6 or 10ma rather than our requirement for 30ma.
They call them GFCI's over there....ground fault circuit interupters.

Maybe we'll have to go to 10ma as well;) in the 18th
