Hi,
I would like some advice. I had a full rewire done 3 weeks ago and I am still chasing the electrician to issue the EIC. The electrician is registered with Napit and he is also on the Competent Person register. I have emailed + called him up multiple times, but he keeps making excuses. What is the best way to deal with this?
Thanks.

sounds like you have tried to deal directly with the electrician to sort out the issue.
next step is here,

there is even a little tick box for missing certificate as a reason for complaint.

Have you paid the bill in full?

Some hold back the cert until payment… which technically isn’t right… doing the cert is part of the work… so you shouldn’t pay in full for incomplete works.

Or perhaps send an email to the electrician specifically asking to make a complaint. He has to have a complaints procedure if he is part of Napit.
It would give him one last chance before he gets a black Mark next to his name at Napit.
Did he do a good job @FTBuyer ?

Thanks all for the advice.

I have spoken to him today and he said he will send me a PDF version of the EIC. Just would like to check with you guys that this is acceptable format, or do I need the original hard copy?

Sorry, didn't answer your questions. Yes, I paid in full, and the work was so, so. A lot of excessive wall damage that needed the plasterer to repair.

Can’t be helped sometimes, especially in an older property… just tapping the wall and half the plaster comes away.

Yes, a PDF is fine. It was maybe created electronically anyway.
Hopefully it comes through.
