Just got in. Sorry didn’t reply earlier.

I tried to look at your profile page to see what qualifications and experience you have to ascertain if you are electrically skilled enough to give advice too.
Your profile page has restricted access, so I couldn’t.
Loki11 there are lots of Folk that limit their Profiles, why I can't answer that it's a personal thing, for those that wish to help, find it difficult to provide answers if there are no details of quals, more importantly experience, very difficult to formulate an answer compatible with the questioner's question if we don't know the experience, or knowledge of the person asking the question, it's no being nosey or inquisitive, quite why people block their profile is unfathomable, we aren't all electrically proficient and there is no shame in admitting this, just helps with formulating an appropriate answer, that's all, hope that allays yours' and everyone else's' fears.

Thanks for clearing that up for me not done anything to my profile that I know of, I have no quals but competant, being in the building trade i have learned alot about other trades also know alot of sparkys who would quite happily advise me on, anything Im not competant in doing I would leave to them but with us being mates, I get put on the back burner lol

You see now, we know you aint a Sparky makes life easier.

Stating facts. Get things done properly.
Forgetfulness is one thing ...but a light without a neutral???

Yes, I never worded the op correctly nor did I state exactly what my intension are and openly held my hands up and admitted to, as for the no neutral thing, I explained above, i was thinking about neutral at the switch why I was thinking that, well I can't even answer that myself apart from having the biggest blonde moment ever, we are all human at the end of the day and all make mistakes, no one's perfect, not having a dig at you at all but it's people like you that knock people's confidence, seen it alot on sites especially with apprentices, not trying to cause an argument with you, I'm not a "keyboard warrior" lol but on he other hand I can see why you said it

Fair enough, to some extent it's frustration with the standards we come across, especially on here, but don't get the wrong idea...lost count of the number of people/learners/apprentices I've helped, 'hands on' in the past. 'People like me' have put an awful lot more into this industry than most will ever do, believe me.

I totally get where your coming from, honestly the amount of bodge it and scarper jobs I've come across in the past is shocking, I've made my self sound like an absolute novice that doesn't have a clue what he's doing lol but I'm quite the opposite, i didnt mean that you don't help people I believe you when say you do, I just meant by speaking your thoughts can potentially knock alot of people that are weak minded,i have seen people driven to depression and suicide because of it, sad I know, most of you lads on here are good guys which is why I posted on here.

The way this trade's going, makes me think along those lines, sometimes....;)

Dont forget any additions to cicuits require an RCD ....if the lighting circuit does not have one it will need one fitting....which will mean a Minor works cert and a bit of testing
