Hi,

I'm very close to agreeing to start a course with Train4Jobs and am hoping that there are members who have either qualified this way, have begun training with them or know anybody who has completed with them and can give me feedback/advice both positive and negative.

I'm signing up to a 3 year course where I'll be working towards NVQ level 3 and feel confident having had 1 meeting with someone described himself as a careers advisor and have a secondary meeting tomorrow.

Obviously I still have 100 more questions but it's looking like I am going to begin the course unless I find something I really don't like.

Thanks in advance,

Lee.

College is still IMO the best route, if you are struggling to get an apprenticeship then go the college route and apply to all the local electricians in your area for an electricians mate position and even ask the tutors who have taught previous students that have become fully qualified if they can recommend you to someone. Being a electricians mate is as good as being an apprentice and you will learn the trade. Emphasize on your covering letter that you are self funding your technical college courses and you are prepared to pay for all your own course tuition fees. This often shows a willing to learn and commitment on your part and will go a long way in helping you.
Good luck m8 and stick with it you will get a lot or rejections before you get that one vital chance.
