G'day! and here I am.......

Been watching from a distance and have now decided to jump in. Thought of a change of the way I earned a crust and have now entered the "light" side. Had the usual route via one of the '(s)training places as an old git like me was right up their street! Did it and passed all the stuff they needed, or is that got trained to pass?? Joined the ELECSA crew (bargain! not) and am now trying to shovel water uphill finding work. Could say two jobs at once and to cap it all they have taken Syndol off the market again... Groan...
Still great to be in something like this and hope if I need help I can shout out and get: 1) a clue 2) the answer 3) told to clear off

same here Jiff, got qualified then got myself disabled before could use my training so thought of doing odd jobs that wouldnt involve too much phisical input now i hear they are going to change the rules again in April on the part p some thing about NVQ3 more payout for more training. good mind to say sod it and live on disability benefit. what a bummer

The bloke who sold me the course is probably now selling the next big thing (horse DNA detection kits!) If I had to rely on this to give me an income I would be laughing, that's if I was prepared to live in a box in a doorway!! Still onwards and upwards(ish)

I have mountains of work and don't seek or particularly want any,but it does show that its possible it could turn for you
One thing about electrics,there is usually good money to be made in this trade and there is always going to be a need for this trade in the future
There are hard times for many at the moment,but that's true of everything
Keep pounding away and I'm sure doors will open for you

You must think I am daft. I don't sign up for just anything that crops up you know. Apart from the ruddy pig that flew through the kitchen we were sitting in when he had his foot on the side of my face and a gun to the back of my head, we were in total agreement about the untold riches, fame and fortune that was waiting for me in the distant future. You could use him as a voltage tester, let him chew cables and if his fur starts to stand on end...you'll know it's live!
