I work a full time job working Monday, Tuesday, Friday to Sunday and then Wednesday, Thursday the next week. I've been working with a self employed electrician for the past couple of weeks as I'm doing a course with trades gateway (which I want too drop because after working with said electrician I have realised how hopeless the course is and how I'd be lost if I ever got a job after the course.) but my problem is would I be able to do the nvq level 3? he's a self employed domestic electrician and I'm just a bit worried because I wouldn't of thought I'd be able to do the nvq level 3 as I thought that also covered commercial work. I wouldn't be able too drop my job due too money issues so my two questions are:

would I be able to do a apprentiship with 18 hours of on site work a week one week then the other a full 36 hours? I know most apprenships is 4 days work 1 day college but I know you don't have to do that many days I'm just not sure on how little your allowed.

and 2, would I be able to get my nvq level 3 from this type of apprentiship? thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, it would be very difficult, if not impossible to do an NVQ 3 just house bashing. There are certain criteria that you just wouldn't meet, i.e. in the new 2357, there are 7 containment systems to install and 7 cable types to install and terminate. I know there are other NVQ 3 quals still running like the 2356-99 but even that requires 4 containment types and 4 cable types. Plus there are many other criteria that you just would not get doing domestic only.
