id definitely go for testmeter.co.uk Its the cheapest anywhere. Unless you want to try a college or something? Give trade skills a call maybe... But imho i probably wouldnt go second hand for a bit of kit like that...

Don't know where you are superspark, but i believe metrel, west yorks do ex demo/reconditioned units with cal cert and some form of guarentee.

i have megger mft 1522, bought for £800 few years ago, value about £625 new, few scuffs and scrapes and boxed would be looking for £300 for item, dont know if any use to you or not but i have my own through work now

Being a gear addict I had a look on the site recommended by Trev1 and nick182 and I think this seems a reasonable buy.

I was looking at used meters etc from hire companies etc but ended up buying a metrel mi3000 of the people who sponsor this forum, cost me £396 delivered with 3 year warrenty etc and tbh its a great little meter. Feels a bit cheap but its pretty quick and efficient.
